瓊斯盃／周桂羽大爆發 中華白射爆立陶宛喜迎首勝
瓊斯盃男子組最後一天的比賽，中華白隊在對上立陶宛隊的比賽，靠著前峰周桂羽以及射手簡祐哲兩人火燙的外線手感，全隊共砍進10顆三分球，最終就以91:80，拿下本屆賽會的首勝。
中華隊開賽後靠著林俊吉漂亮的穿針引線、個人連送3次助攻，取得10:3的領先，不過立陶宛靠著莫圖薩斯、瓦薩利斯兩位射手神準表現，又將分數給追趕上來，第一節結束時他們反倒取得20:19的超前。
落後的中華隊，在第2節靠著王柏智的幾波籃下得手，開始將比分給追近，並在高國豪的跳投命中後，重新取得領先，半場結束中華隊以41:35佔得優勢。
易籃再戰後，中華小將們依舊士氣高昂，林俊吉在一次快攻中獲得小帳加一的機會，之後又飆進一顆三分、帶領球隊打出一波13:3的攻勢，加上簡祐哲單節砍進4顆三分球，中華隊將分數拉開、把比數拉開成73:59。
決勝節今天表現相當出色的周桂羽繼續在傷口上灑鹽，遠投近切無往不利，也澆熄了立陶宛最後的反撲，終場以11分差帶走最後的勝利。
周桂羽這一場比賽拿下全隊最高的16分，簡祐哲和曾祥鈞都有12分的進帳，林冠鈞和高國豪都拿到11分；而立陶宛方面，則以托馬斯的25分最為優異。

華埠雙語兒童培護中心 學前班47幼童畢業

華埠兒童培護中心22日在曼哈頓華埠容閎小學大禮堂舉辦畢業典禮，47名四至五歲就讀學前班的小朋友獲得畢業證書。參加畢業典禮的家長看到孩子兩年間的成長都感到相當欣慰，除了孩子能夠說一口流利的中、英文外，多數家長認為，期間孩子學會守秩序、懂禮貌，獲得友誼，更是無價之寶。
華埠兒童培護中心教育主任李小愷表示，就讀該中心學前班的孩子，許多來自新移民家庭，因為家裡不習慣說英文，孩子剛到學前班時聽不懂英文。也有些孩子在美國出生長大，雖會說少許中文，但讀和寫對他們都是相當大的挑戰，因此中心平時致力教導孩子中、英文聽說讀寫，希望對他們未來有幫助。
社交也是該中心的教學重點。李小愷指出，多數孩子在家中被捧在手心，沒有分享與交朋友的觀念，但透過學前班教育，孩子不僅學到分享、誠實、處理衝突等，還交到許多朋友。
紐約中華公所主席伍銳賢當天參加畢業典禮。他表示，除了英文，中文已變成全世界的共通語言之一，孩子學習中文相當重要，他相信這些小朋友小小年紀學會使用流利中文，有助未來發展。
兩歲就到兒培中心就讀學前班的葉芊蕓，家中多講粵語。奶奶葉女士表示，兩年期間孩子中、英文都變得非常好，甚至還會背三字經和唐詩。移民自香港的葉女士指出，看到孫女小小年紀就能說三種語言，讓她相當驕傲。
江先生全家當天特地來參加女兒江樂兒的畢業典禮，江先生欣慰表示，女兒為家中獨女，就讀學前班前只認識自己的家人，但是透過學校教育，她學會分享事物，也交到不少好朋友。
